Rhode Home Rescue specializes in rescuing dogs from unhealthy situations – be it kill shelters, incapable owners, and surrenders – and finding them the furever homes they deserve. At Rhode Home, we fully believe that adopting a rescue not only save them, but saves you too!

Rhode Home Rescue is an all volunteer, non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization whose volunteers have many years of rescue experience. Our mission is to identify and rescue all types of dogs from overwhelmed euthanasia shelters and abusive situations and place them in secure, loving homes. We are a foster-based program, consisting of all volunteers, and have decided to branch out on our own in order to fulfill our mission.
Prior to a Rhode Home Rescue dog being adopted, each dog undergoes an examination by a veterinarian, is updated on all age appropriate vaccinations, spayed or neutered, and micro chipped. At Rhode Home Rescue we firmly believe that a healthy, well trained dog is the key to the successful integration of a rescued dog and ensures a wonderful, loving companion for years to come.
The average cost to rescue a dog in 2012 was $720. Rhode Home Rescue is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization and 100% of donations and fees are used for the rescue and care of these dogs!
Volunteers are our forgotten heros! Everyday, these wonderful souls pickup pooches from transport, take them to appointments, and help us with events!
Since our inception in February 2016, we′ve been able to assist and find furever homes for so many dogs!
Rhode Home Rescue depends on public support! Since our founding, we′ve been able to rescue and support our animals through the kindness of you!
Our programs unite the public with our dogs, bringing awareness to the state while promoting our four legged friends!
I decided to foster for super dog back in October for a Shepadoodle named Milly! I ended up being a furever foster! This organization is amazing, very well organized, and everyone was so friendly! Milly has become part of our family and makes us laugh everyday! So glad I decided to foster!
We adopted Mr. Ozzy on Sept. 14th from Rhode Home Rescue & could not be happier with our experience! First off, Ozzy is the best little addition to our family, he is the sweetest most calm tempered pup I have ever met! All he wants to do is sleep and cuddle! Roo, the amazing volunteer I worked with was there every step of the way to answer any questions or concerns we had throughout the process. Everyone was well organized and so empathetic to us as new adopters and gave us as many resources and tools we needed for the adoption and adjustment process to be successful which I was so impressed with! I am still in contact with Roo, she checks in every so often to make sure things are going well and everyone is happy and adjusting well. This rescue really puts in the time and effort it takes for a successful adoption between adopters and adoptees. We are so lucky that Ozzy came into our lives and the friends from Rhode Home Rescue we made along the way! Thank you Rhode Home Rescue!!
The love Rhode home rescue has for all of the pups in their care is incredible. As a foster mom through RHR I appreciate the amazing communication, the frequent check-ins on the pups, and the willingness they have to help my family and the pups feel as comfortable as possible! Thanks for being such an amazing rescue, keep it up!
I began fostering with RHR earlier this year, even after my first event I could tell what an amazing group of people volunteer their time to make this rescue run smoothly. Their passion is contagious and I quickly wanted to learn and help more! Fast forward a few months and I was given the opportunity to foster the sweetest, sassiest, most loving puppy ever! I fell instantly in love with her and ended up adopting her!! Nadine and the RHR team made the adoption process easy and I knew I was getting the perfect dog to fit into our family. The RHR team goes above and beyond for every dog in their care and helps find them their perfect furever homes! I am SO thankful to be apart of this wonderful team both as a volunteer AND now as an adopter!!!!
