🛑🙏 Before Lil Mac’s story fades into another scroll... we hope you’ll stop and meet a dog who deserves his happy forever home. Lil Mac has been waiting in foster care for over a year for someone to choose him. While we wish his forever family would find him soon, this little guy has worked so hard in the care of our amazing fosters. Lil Mac’s time with us so far has been filled with patience, training, healing, and so much love, and we know that will continue until he finds his forever people! At just two years old, Lil Mac has already overcome more than any dog should. He was found tied up and abandoned in a cemetery in Arkansas, frightened and alone. Since making his way to Rhode Island, our amazing team has helped him discover what it means to feel safe and loved. Because of his past, Lil Mac was especially wary of men. But thanks to the gentle patience of his human foster dad and human foster brother, Lil Mac slowly found the courage to trust. Today, the same little dog who once kept his distance now leans into them with his whole heart. Watching his transformation has been nothing short of incredible. Lil Mac is still growing and learning every day. He would be happiest in a home with a fenced yard where he can relax and play without the hustle and bustle of apartment living. They naturally communicate through body language, facial expressions, scent, routine, and observation. Ever wonder how your dog knows it’s dinner time before you say a word? That’s because routine and visual cues matter far more to them than verbal ones! With just a few simple accommodations, like hand signals, consistent routines, and a little extra awareness, deaf dogs can live happy, full lives just like any other dog ❤️ We currently have two deaf dogs: 🌸 Jolina is a 7-month-old Australian Shepherd mix with a heart as beautiful as she is. Her foster is teaching her hand signals, and she’s playful, curious, and full of puppy energy. The only thing she’s missing is hearing you tell her how adorable she is! If you've been to one of our events lately, you might have met the well-dressed Miss Aura! She is now ready to find her forever home! Aura was found as a stray in Providence - she was caught trying to throw herself over a chain-link fence to get into a children's daycare to play with the kids! Nobody ever claimed her, and she was very shut down in the shelter! However, out of the shelter her personality has really bloomed! Aura has opinions, so many opinions! For example: Auras likes include: being with you! Going where you go! Hopping over baby gates to go where you go! Going in between your legs out the door to go where you go! You get the point😅 Girl is needyyy! Aura loves to cuddle, car rides and enjoys getting dressed up to go out with YOU! Auras dislikes include: being without you! Not going where you go. Being left behind! With a close runner up of: strangers! But luckily for Aura, all strangers are one cuddle away from being a friend. You will just have to get past her barking at you first😂 Aura loves people and definitely would do best with someone home a lot as she does have separation anxiety.
